Ruthlessly Dealing with Ants and Weeds

The rains caused a few problems apart from the blessings of not having to water. God does that for us.

  • Problem 1: Before and after the rains the ants go wild seeking food.
  • Problem 2: After the rains the weeds literally jump up everywhere.

The only way to deal with these two problems is to mix ant and weed poison (separately) into a pump spray can and deal ruthlessly with the ants and weeds at every point.

I don’t know about you but when I’m not too busy I tend to use my mind unproductively … actually, the tendency to sin is more evident under such circumstances.

How does one deal with sin in the face that God “chose us in him [Christ] before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his [God the Father’s] sight” (Eph 1:4).

May I suggest that we use the exact same method we deal with ants and weeds! Ruthlessly!

1Jn 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Confession receives forgiveness AND purification.

It is only through Jesus’ blood that pardon is received … just as the only way to deal with ants and weeds is the relative poison!

Our Heavenly Father was ruthless in dealing with sin … His Son’s life-blood.

Thank you Father for your grace and love that enables Your people to be pardoned and cleansed. Amen.
