Hoarding Biblical Truth

Today was a slow day … continued sorting cupboards because it was too cold and windy to be outside.

Cleaning out cupboards exposes what we have hoarded over the years. Have you noticed that? Gathering THINGS that are seldom if ever used! Wow … this is embarrassing. Just think about being called a hoarder!

There is another way we can hoard–gathering Biblical Truth over the years and keeping it to ourselves without sharing it with others.

I am not talking about gathering books and CDs / DVDs and gospel songs. I am talking about gathering information through devotions and sermons and Bible Studies and hoarding that knowledge for ourselves when we could be sharing it with others.

All that spiritual data has matured you and readied you to share that information with others.

Paul under inspiration writes …

Phm 1:6 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.

During lock down, how could you be “active in sharing your faith”?

  • Praying for others: their salvation or their spiritual growth;
  • Sending SMSes, WhatsApps or emails to other that could either present the gospel or encourage them in the Lord;

Being active in sharing your faith is one method of you becoming more certain of your salvation and more bold in your faith.

Dear God, thank you that someone prayed for my salvation and thank you that someone shared the gospel with me. Help me to be an encouragement to someone this week. Amen.
